In the first quarter of 2021, the unicorn-themed gaming category saw an interesting fluctuation in user engagement across Latin America. According to data from Sensor Tower, here's how the top five applications fared.
TutoTOONS' Kpopsies - Hatch Baby Unicorns began the quarter with downloads peaking at 164K in the last week of December 2020, but experienced a gradual decrease to 111K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar downtrend from 496K to 383K in the same period.
Another TutoTOONS title, My Baby Unicorn - Pony Care, also saw a slight decline in downloads, from 102K to 84K, while active users dipped from 234K to 218K by the end of Q1.
SOCEM's Unicorn Dash: Fun Runner 2 had an interesting journey with downloads spiking mid-quarter to 94K before settling at 45K. Active users experienced a peak of 99K in late February but closed the quarter at 66K.
For Budge Studios' My Little Pony: Harmony Quest, downloads saw a mid-quarter hike, reaching 49K in late March, a significant rise from the starting 31K. The game also ended on a high note with active users, growing from 69K to 85K.
Lastly, Coco Play By TabTale's Coco Pony - My Dream Pet experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at 9K and reaching 21K. Active users showed a peak of 97K in the penultimate week of March, an uptick from the 85K at the beginning of the quarter.
